what have we been up to anyway

Lotus squats to pick a flower...

Solana and Marley dress up as patriotic twins for Fairy and Toad Day at the wildlife center...

Lotus loves anything with wheels...

speaking of wheels...I got to try out a spinning wheel (with Marley) at the Fiber Guild of Savannah's show and demonstration...

and Solana tried her hand at weaving! She really enjoyed herself on this loom. It has pedals that pull out certain strings. The order that one pushes the pedals changes the pattern. I was thrilled that she liked doing this.

I have to start writing this stuff somewhere

Solana was trying to get me to say yes to something this morning and she tried bribing me by promising to give me "a box of cherries, a string of fish, and a bouquet of flowers." I said yes!

Later, she asked me to buy her more french fries. I told her I would when she finished the ones she had. She told me, "I need them now because I'm afraid that when I'm done with those my hungry will have run out". My point exactly!

Quoting the movie "Coraline" she said, "Black is traditional...but you might prefer vermillion, or star troops..." (Chartreuse)

around the house

Marley and Solana had a blast chasing these big bubbles down our driveway. The breeze was perfect.

This bloomed by our mailbox. Gorgeous!

Here is some cashmere yarn I dyed with Kool-Aid. It was surprisingly easy, about the same as boiling pasta.

Solana colored this frame, and then pretended to be a picture.

enjoying the hot tub together :)
