Solana got tired on the way back from Lake Mayer (Grandmas will carry children when moms won't.)

We went to the playground and the grass was full of these wild flowers. Today we were there and they were all mowed except for three.

Solana held Lotus for me for a few minutes so I could weight myself at Publix!

Solana is always asking to hold Lotus. On this occasion she kept asking while we were driving, so as soon as we parked I put Lotus in her lap. She is such a loving sister and always rushes to comfort Lotus as soon as she starts fussing. She sings "snow baby glow", a song she made up. Sometimes she sings it softly and gently, and sometimes she just says "snow baby glow" over and over quickly to hush her up fast!

Lotus turned 5 months old this week. She ate her first solid food (banana), and found her toes! Solana... cleaned the cat box and folded her laundry today :)

I got this "jump-up" device at a yard sale (of course) and it's pretty funny to see Lotus standing up next to us! David is 6' 5", Solana is 3' 6" and Lotus is 2' 1"!

My sister sent us this baby carrier and it works great since Lotus likes facing out and my slings don't fit very well around David's torso.

knitted baby pants

My friend Marisa gave me some wool soakers that she knitted for her son, now 2, that he has outgrown. They are so cute! Here is one example.

These loud pants are my handiwork. They were an experiment since I've never knitted pants before and I just made up the pattern as I went along. The yellow waistband was an afterthought since the rise was too low and I had run out of the other yarn. Isn't it great when they are young enough to dress them in whatever we want?

Ergo baby carrier

So I wanted to get the Ergo baby carrier to carry Lotus on my back, but she's still a bit small. I tried it out on David and her face was against his back and she didn't like that. Solana liked it however, and Lotus likes riding on the front.
